Super Bowl Thoughts

1. The Bears were really lucky the score didn't end up being 55-10 or something. They were outplayed all game long; the only things that saved them were (a) D. Hester's run, (b) T. Jones' run, and (c) the Colts' surprising inability to punch it in on four occasions.
2. It's easy to second guess it now, but did L. Smith really have to play his secondary so far back on every single down?
3. People can talk all they want about how great Chicago's defense is, but the Bears stunningly couldn't adapt to one guy- J. Addai- consistently burning them on literally the same play over and over and over.
4. R. Grossman sucks.
5. R. Grossman's horrible passing abilities allowed Indy to overcompensate for the rush every down, and limit it a great deal.
6. It used to make me just internally chuckle, but now every time I hear "it's Comcastic," I am forced to laugh out loud.
7. Not really Super Bowl related, but the Merroids rule is hilarious. And should somehow be put into effect for next week's Pro Bowl.
8. That throw to R. Wayne was ridiculous.
9. The pass on which Peyton Manning was picked came at the end of a play nearly identical to one he had against Baltimore- pump right to M. Harrison, throw deep, intercepted by a deep safety.
10. Very surprising to see D. Rhodes upset after the game. Dude just won the Super Bowl.
11. There were a ton of crushing hits in this game; pretty brutal to watch.
12. My preseason Super Bowl pick- Denver beats Chicago. At least I got the second half right.
13. The CBS replays were actually quite good.
14. The highlight of the game: Vinatieiri missed! Woot!!!
15. Ran out of stuff... maybe Laser Stream can add...

16. CBS (at least the KPIX affiliate) had trouble keeping the picture from dropping every 30 mins or so.
17. HD was awesome when it wasn't being comcastic.
18. It was indeed strange to see Rhodes unhappy. He had some pretty good runs.
19. Hester's pretty good, but that runback was due in large part to the Colts' poor Special Teams play.
20. Apparently Grossman told T. Jones that they'd take it one play at a time. Too bad he didn't follow his own advice.
21. The commercials were below-average.
22. The cameras kept getting fogged up!!
23. The day after the Super Bowl should really be a national holiday.
24. R. Grossman sucks.
25. The Pro Bowl wasn't bad, except that Brees got a minor injury. A great comeback by the NFC, but Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson got it done.
26. R. Grossman is comcastic.
